Late Post: She's Here!!

Life has been a little hectic these days. Our little lady made her appearance on March 2nd at 8:24 pm. Needless to say we've been a little behind on the announcement. While things definitely didn't go as planned, hoped or dreamed, we’re happy that she arrived when she did, small but healthy. I’ll get into the birth story a little later. I just haven't quite figured out how I want to tell it. I definitely feel some kind of way about it but can't dwell on it. She's here now and this first month has been one heck of a ride!!

She's definitely particular. Extremely particular. While experts, doctors and the WHO say back to sleep is the way to go when putting your baby down for a nap or bedtime, she has said screw your research! I sleep only on my side, with my legs and arms just so. If not, there will be hell to pay OR you can just let me sleep on a human of your choice. Mommy, daddy, auntie, it doesn't matter. Give me a human!

Sleeping for more than two hours seems to break some rule she has in her mind. So it only occurs about once a day, usually the first part of her bedtime. After that, it's downhill from there. She demands a boob for everything and is not afraid to ask for it. Especially at 3 in the morning when I've attempted to lay her back in the bassinet multiple times and her placement still isn't correct. Le sigh…

But despite all of that, she's our sweet little girl and we love her to pieces including big brother.

Annnnnndd she sounds like a baby dinosaur when she's sleeping. So there's that too.

Welcome to our new normal.

Now let me go and try to catch the mythical creature called sleep.
